The Trustees of Linwood Cemetery and Crematory of Haverhill recently presented a donation to Merrimack Valley Hospice, supporting the city’s High Pointe House.

While an amount was not disclosed, the gift was described as “generous” by officials of Home Health Foundation. Money will be used to support patients, confront advanced illness and end of life at the hospice house.

“We are pleased to make this substantial donation to High Pointe House to assist the valuable services Merrimack Valley Hospice provides to patients and families in our community. They are a tremendous resource to our city and region,” said Gordon Stone, Linwood trustee.

Linwood Cemetery and Crematory is a private, non-denominational and nonprofit 45-acre cemetery in Haverhill. It was founded more than 170 years ago.

“It is an honor to be their charity of choice; many patients and their families will benefit from this special gift to support High Pointe House,” said Karen Gomes, president and CEO of Home Health Foundation, which includes Merrimack Valley Hospice, Home Health VNA and HomeCare.
