Frank P. Conte, 90, Worked as Inspector at Raytheon

Frank P. Conte, 90, of Haverhill, husband of the late Lena A. (Ferullo) Conte, passed away at home Aug. 10, surrounded by his family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Federico and Jennie (Grassi) Conte. He was raised and educated in Haverhill and attended Haverhill public schools. Conte served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was known as “Papa” to his family, who he adored. Sunday dinner was very important to him and he enjoyed having all his family with him. He was employed at Raytheon as an inspector for many years and was a union leader. Conte was an active member of the Garibaldi Club in Haverhill. He enjoyed playing cards and horse racing. Every Friday night he would meet with friends at Orzo Restaurant in North Andover.

He is survived by his daughter in law, Terri M. Schena of Haverhill and was predeceased by his son Frederick J. Conte; four grandchildren, Eric Conte and his wife Meredith; Angela Conte-Iannalfo and Dana Iannalfo; R.J. Schena and his wife Julie; Jarod Schena and his wife Brooke; seven great grandchildren, Ava, Ali, Freddie, Gabby, Piper, Cooper and Reagan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Marino Conte, Alfred Conte, Amerilo (Speed) Conte, Sebastian (PeeWee) Conte, Orlando (Lindy) Conte, Rudolph (Rudi) Conte, Angelina (Angie) Conte, Agnes Bevilacqua and Vera Wenige.

Funeral services are Monday morning, at 9,  from Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Avenue, Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill.
