Robert B. Perrault, 71, Vietnam Veteran, Manager at Lucent

Robert B. Perrault, 71, of Haverhill, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 8, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boston.

He was born in Haverhill, July 10, 1946, son of the late Ralph and Alice (Patnaude) Perrault. Educated in St. Joseph’s Grammar School, Mr. Perrault graduated from Central Catholic High School. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of sergeant. After being honorably discharged he earned his bachelor’s in business accounting from New Hampshire College. For more than 21 years he was employed at the former Lucent Technologies from where he retired in 2001 as a manager. An avid sports fan, especially Boston sports, he also enjoyed playing bingo.

His survivors include his wife of 34 years, Theresa (Turcotte) Perrault of Haverhill; son, Steven Perrault and his wife Jennifer of North Andover; daughter, Elizabeth Farragher and her husband Colin of Andover; step daughter, Pam Ryan and her husband Louis of Gloucester; two sisters, Elizabeth Valcourt of Raymond, N.H., and Linda Williams of Rochester, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Keara Farragher, Katherine and Taylor Perrault, Derek Cotton, Nicholas and Hunter Cooper and Christopher Ryan; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service takes place Monday morning, Aug. 14, at 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
