Haverhill High School history teacher E. Philip Brown will sign copies of his new book, “Images of America: Greeks of the Merrimack Valley,” during a lecture at Buttonwoods Museum on Thursday, Aug. 17.

Set for release on Aug. 14, “Greeks of the Merrimack Valley” details the plight of Greek immigrants who settled in Haverhill, Lawrence and Lowell and sought work in the local factories and mills.

“Greeks” is Brown’s second book released through Arcadia Publishing. Last year, he released “Images in America: Armenians of the Merrimack Valley,” which he co-wrote with late Haverhill Gazette photographer and columnist Tom Vartabedian.

Buttonwoods Museum is located at 240 Water St., Haverhill. Brown’s free signing begins at 7 p.m.
