Carmen Hernandez, 66

Carmen Hernandez, 66, of Haverhill passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, at Lahey Clinic, Burlington, surrounded by her family.

Born and educated in the Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of Ignacio and Maria (Baez) Hernandez. Hernandez lived in New York for many years and relocated to Haverhill four years ago to be near her family. A woman of strong faith, she was devoted to her church and family. She enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother; Maria A. Hernandez, of Haverhill; siblings, Manuel Olivo of Haverhill, Francisco Baez of Georgia, Pedro Baez of the Dominican Republic, Julio Baez of Haverhill, Edgar Baez of Haverhill, Anna Olivo of Haverhill, and Graciela Hernandez and Anna Baez-Rosario, of the Dominican Republic; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 9, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. James Church, Winter St. Haverhill. Burial is private.
