The legacy of Haverhill’s Steve Lyons continues to live on through music. Those close to the city native, who passed away in 2007, will gather for food and fun on Aug. 26 as part of their annual Steve Lyons Fund Rock Out! Cookout event at Winnekenni Castle.
Held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the day includes live music, food, games and fun for the whole family. Performing at this year’s festival include McKinley’s Mood, Sisters & Brothers, David Corson, Cate Mangione & Ben Mini, Push the Limits, Ryan Sawyer, Colm O’Brien and Catching Arrows.
The event celebrates the life of 2002 Haverhill High graduate Lyons, who passed away at age 23. Each year, the Steve Lyons Fund donates proceeds from the event to groups that support youth and the arts. Proceeds from the 2017 cookout will go to the Haverhill Middle School band program.
Tickets are available online at SteveLyonsFund.bigcartel.com/ or at Positive Images, 53 Wingate St., Haverhill. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. There is a $50 maximum contribution per family.
