Jane A. (Shugrue) Francis, 66, of Haverhill, wife of the late Thomas M. Francis, passed away Sunday, July 30,at High Point Hospice, Haverhill, with her daughter at her side.
Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Eleanor M. (Owens) Shugrue. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1968. Upon graduation, she attended Castle Secretarial School in Windham, N.H., graduating in 1971. Francis was employed for many years as a legal secretary at Finbury and Sullivan Law Office in Haverhill. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts, including wood burning, sewing and painting. She loved to travel, and spent many vacations on Cape Cod, Maine, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, New Orleans and Florida.
Francis is survived by her daughter, Michelle M. Wilkins and her husband Michael R. of Haverhill; sister, Joan M. Garon and her husband Paul A.; and two grandchildren, Janelle M. Wilkins and Jesse M. Wilkins. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas M. Francis, her daughter Melissa M. Francis and her sister, Jill P. Shugrue.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 5 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Burial is private.
