College Hosts Panel for Women Thinking of Going Back to School

Four local women discuss their stories of balancing going back to school with work and family obligations when Northern Essex Community College holds a “Women Returning to School Information Session,” Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Panelists will include Allison Belisle of Haverhill, 2017 Nursing graduate; Daniela Chavez-Hernandez of Dracut, 2017 Early Childhood graduate, Patricia Lyons of Methuen, 2013 Business Management graduate, and Charlene Woodard of Haverhill, 2009 Business Management graduate. Besides the presentations, the free event features an admissions and financial aid overview and a review of programs offered at the college.

“Maybe you started college but didn’t finish, are looking for a career change or never had the opportunity to attend college, and now’s your time,” said Danny Richer, the college’s director of recruitment and admissions.  “This will be a friendly, comfortable opportunity to get your questions answered and, if you’d like to, enroll for the fall.”

The information session takes place Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Hartleb Technology Center on Northern Essex Community College’s Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St. The 45-minute program begin at 6 p.m. and staff will be available to answer questions and accept applications from 5:30 to 8.
