The Haverhill man, accused of raping a disabled woman in his family’s care, returns to Salem Superior Court next month.
Joseph Gagnon, 50, of 177 Liberty St., was indicted by an Essex County Grand Jury May 15. He was arrested in March by Haverhill police and charged with rape, indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and abuse of a disabled person by a caregiver, according to Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokeswoman for Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.
Gagnon returns to court for pre-trial motions Aug. 24.
Following his initial arraignment in Haverhill District Court, Gagnon was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet and to stay away from, and have no contact with, the victim.
In 2010, Gagnon reached a plea agreement after being arrested and charged with inappropriately touching a 17-year-old girl at a Groveland tanning business.
