It’s a reunion of sorts for Billy Brigham, who was well-known as an operator of his father’s Pleasant Spa convenience store until retiring and moving away 26 years ago.

Brigham is visiting for two weeks from his new home on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, Washington, and happily shocked to discover Haverhill’s progress over the years. He said he is delighted by the construction downtown, the bustle of people and improvements throughout the city.

He’s inviting friends and former patrons of Pleasant Spa to meet with him tonight at 6:30, at Oriental Garden, Westgate Center.

“It would really mean a lot to me if people would just stop by to say ‘hi,’” he said.

He said he spent his whole career at Pleasant Spa, at the top of Seventh Avenue at Main Street. The store was owned by his dad, William H. Brigham Jr.
