Local collector Stephen Lewis is set to expose elements of the Occupy Movement in a new poster exhibit at Haverhill Public Library this August. Titled “The 99% Resist,” the curation by Lewis highlights the wealth gap between the country’s richest 1 percent and the remaining 99 percent of the population.

Lewis collected his posters from the U.S., Great Britain, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and Spain and they represent a mere fraction of his 6,800 total political posters amassed over 20 years. A longtime political activist and union leader, Lewis is also hosting exhibits locally at the Topsfield Public Library, Taunton Public Library and the Lawrence Heritage State Park.

The Haverhill Public Library exhibit, “The 99% Resist,” is on display during regular library hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  1. I loved the millennials who made up the Occupy Movement! The non-working indoctrinated looney liberals were out protesting against the very people who financially pay to run our government. The top 1% of wage earners pay 24% of all taxes. The top 10% pay over 70% of all taxes. More importantly, for every dollar that a top wage earner pays in taxes they receive just $00.19 in benefits from the government. For every dollar that low wage earners pay in taxes they receive $20.00 in benefits. For the Occupy Movement under their hero Obama, the new American Dream for liberals isn’t about working hard to get ahead, it’s cradle to grave government subsistence that someone else pays for.

And they idiots want to “resist” this socialist system? They might want to rethink what they’re protesting against….they might end up having to get jobs to support themselves.

    • I’d rather be a looney liberal than, “A proud to be, low-information, fact denier.’ sounds like you’re got your talking points straight from the Hannity Express! Or was it the Lou Dobbs local? You’re so against socialism does that mean you won’t accept your Social Security payments. are you going to pay the $10,000 a month for a parent to stay in a nursing home or is that considered socialism if you get help, or are you the hypocritical religious type who hears the word of God about helping others while voting for politicians who would deny help for the truly needy. oh and how’s your Hero, Donald Trump? He did a great job of draining the swamp didn’t he? loading up with all those Goldman Sachs ex-employees and I’m sure that they have the middle class and poors” best interest at heart. face it it your sympathies lie with the corrupt and greedy.

      • The statistics I quoted come from the Congressional Budget Office. They are FACTS. You know facts, don’t you? They’re those pesky little truths that liberals tend to avoid like a rash.

You seem to be a typical liberal…you’re very angry. What happened…Trump cut your EBT off?

It’s nice to see an Occupy Groupy after smoking weed all day with enough energy to respond to my comment. See you at the next Liz Warren Fake Indian rally.

        • I work 50 plus hours a week, two jobs, I pay my taxes, but unlike you I care about my fellow citizens. I’m also a veteran, proud to be an American, You know… your typical liberal. So You Think You Know Me, You Don’t Know Jack! Jack! And here’s a fun FACT for you, Most conservatives aren’t stupid people, but most stupid people are conservatives. Have fun at the next Munich Beer Hall meeting. I support America you can support Trump and Russia if you want, but I’m afraid you’ll be on the wrong side of History as conservatives usually are, see: slavery, women’s right to vote, Social Security , Medicare, civil rights, labor, I could go on but I got to catch that fake Native American rally. have a good one
