Rita Frances Huberdeau, 99, Worked for Western Electric

Rita_HuberdeauRita Frances Huberdeau, 99, daughter of the late Aaron and Helen (Rossignol) Hume of Amesbury and Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully at Hannah Dustin Healthcare Center in Haverhill July 15.

Born Dec. 12, 1917, Huberdeau graduated from Merrimac High School, class of 1934. Formerly of Merrimac for 17 years, she was a longtime resident of Haverhill. She worked as an assembler for Western Electric and then AT&T for 20 years, where she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Huberdeau was a member of the Church of the Nativity, Merrimac, and had a fondness for quilting, and sewing. She would quilt blankets for terminally ill children as a show of her love and support, and was very active in service organizations in her church and community.

Predeceased by her husband Armand “Bonesy” Huberdeau in 1973, she leaves her son David Huberdeau and his wife Marie of Haverhill; daughter Donna (Huberdeau) Carideo and her husband Bud, of Hampstead N.H.; two sisters-in-law, Cecile Huberdeau, of Haverhill, and Jeannette Huberdeau of Haverhill; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours July 18, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, with a funeral mass the following day, July 19, at 10 a.m., at All Saints Parish, Haverhill, followed by her burial at St. Josephs Cemetery.
