Supporters of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School have banded together to form a new nonprofit aimed at providing additional financial resources and community support for the Whittier district, WHAV has learned.

The Whittier Tech Educational Foundation, a separate entity from the trade school, has begun to officially seek donations and pursue fundraising and grant funding opportunities.

As part of their initial efforts, the Whittier Tech Educational Foundation is set to host a golf tournament on Aug. 17 at Bradford Country Club, 201 Chadwick Rd., Haverhill. The entry fee is $125 per player and includes 18 holes with a cart, lunch and participation in an awards ceremony. Lunch only tickets may be purchased for $30.
