Mary (Blake) “Naka” Sweeney, 83

Mary (Blake) “Naka” Sweeney, 83, of Haverhill, died Saturday morning, July 8, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill.

She was born in Boston, Aug. 18, 1933, daughter of the late John and Anna (McDonough) Blake and was educated in the Boston school system. Prior to moving to Haverhill, she and her late husband resided in Sanbornton, N.H., on Lake Winnisquam. Sweeney enjoyed time spent with her family and was an avid Red Sox fan.

She was the wife of the late Robert J. Sweeney and mother of the late Richard Sweeney who both died in 2012. Her survivors include a son, David Sweeney and his wife Pamela of Bradford; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sweeney of Litchfield, N.H.;  sister, Elizabeth Sacco of Burlington; two brothers, Francis Blake of Middleboro and William Blake of Arlington; four grandchildren, Caitie McCormack and her spouse Ryan, Kelly Maher and her spouse Matty, Eric Sweeney and his spouse Carly and Casey Sweeney; two great grandchildren, Kiley and Morgan McCormack as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Wednesday, July 12, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Bradford, followed by a funeral service at 7:15, at the funeral home. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society 101A 1st Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
