Walter G. Taylor, 58, Former Georgetown Police Officer

Walter_TaylorWalter G. Taylor, 58, of Haverhill, passed away at his home Thursday, June 15, in Haverhill.

He was born on May 21, 1959 in Saugus, son of Walter D. Salois-Taylor and the late Anna D. (Gray) Taylor. Taylor was educated in the Haverhill public school system and graduated from Haverhill High School. He served in the Army National Guard. He earned his associates in criminal justice and served as an officer with the Georgetown Police for more than 10 years and also as a major with the Essex County Sheriff Department. In his later years he became the head of security for Abbott Laboratories. In his free time, Taylor enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends; going to the movies; painting; gardening; visiting Maine; and mostly, seeing his granddaughter.

He was predeceased by his mother, Anna D. Taylor who passed away in 2015 and Wilbur J. Taylor, who passed in 1985.

Taylor is survived by his wife, Deborah M. (Freeman) Taylor; father, Walter D. Salois-Taylor of Bradford; son, William Taylor of Haverhill; two daughters, Danielle Taylor and her husband Giacomo Marchese of Haverhill and Shannon Taylor and her husband John Mooradian of Haverhill; brother, William J. Taylor and his wife Glenda of Fredericksburg, Virg.; three sisters, Dr. Lynne Taylor Drizen and Dr. Brian Murphy of Gloucester, Donna M. Angelone of Methuen and Deborah A. Taylor of Bradford; granddaughter, Daisy Anna Taylor- Mooradian; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass Thursday, June 22, 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St. (route 125) Bradford. Burial is private and at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to Sisters of the Precious Blood, 700 Bridge St., Manchester, NH 03104.
