Haverhill politicians are kicking off campaign season with a series of meet and greet events and fundraising opportunities starting this month.
Current City Councilor Colin F. LePage will begin his efforts for another term alongside family and supporters Tuesday, June 13, at Haverhill’s Barking Dog Ale House, 77 Washington St. A suggested $25 donation is requested at the 5:30 p.m. event, which features Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
The city’s first Latino councilor, Andy Vargas, will vie for his second term this fall, and invites voters to his kickoff event next week, Wednesday, June 21, also at the Barking Dog Ale House. The event begins at 6 p.m., and a $25 donation is suggested.
Haverhill’s longest-serving mayor, James J. Fiorentini, will greet supporters at a kickoff fundraiser Monday, June 26, on the deck at The Tap Restaurant, 100 Washington Street, Haverhill. Tickets for the event, held from 5:30 to 8 p.m., range from $50 to $250.
Local lawyer Rich Rosa will formalize his School Committee campaign with a launch party Tuesday, June 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Haverhill’s new Battle Grounds Coffee Company, 39 Washington St.
If you’re interesting seeing Haverhill continue down the path towards becoming Lawrence, continue voting for these liberal democrats. Haverhill is not far behind Lawrence as it is. Gang shootings, teenage girls getting raped in city parks, a steady increase in low income housing, businesses NEVER looking to locate in the city, a mayor who welcomes illegal trespasser drug dealers from other countries to come to the city, murders, drive-by shootings, young people getting wiped out by the drugs flowing into the city and on and on.
When have you EVER seen any liberal democrat Haverhill city councilor actually do anything regarding these issues….especially Andy Vargas? It is very clear that Vargas’ constituency is the very criminal trespassers living illegally in the city. Why else would he be so motivated in helping these invaders recently through social media by notifying them that the Federal Government and ICE was in the city doing their job? Did you see him that motivated when a young Spanish girl almost his same age got raped in a city park? Have you heard him that motivated about the problem of young people his own age getting wiped out by the drugs these very trespassers bring to the city? He’s done nothing. He’s said nothing. But what he did say recently is that his own parents came to Haverhill by criminally trespassing and entering this country illegally. He bragged about his father taking a job in a shoe factory, which took a job away from a citizen of this country. What more proof do Haverhill voters need to know that the story of illegal criminal trespassers is essentially Vargas’ family story and where his loyalties are?
If you support someone who puts the interests of criminal trespassers in the city illegally who are creating numerous social and economic problems above taxpaying citizens of the city then Andy is your guy. A vote for Andy is a vote to continue down the path of a significant decline in the quality of life in Haverhill. Haverhill is now a VERY dangerous place as a result of the public policies implemented by the mayor and Vargas.
Is there anybody running for mayor?
I know it will be quite a mess to clean up!
I ask for one thing and one thing only in the mayor and that is transparency!! No such thing in this current administration.
