First Open Mike Show with Komola Features Live Talent from ‘Diva’

Frank Komola took over the reins of the Open Mike Show Monday, maintaining a more than 50-year tradition of local talk radio and introducing more live talent.

For his first program, Komola previewed “Diva,” an all-female cast of singers, appearing at a concert benefiting the Cogswell Artspace Initiative, Thursday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m., at First Church of Christ, 10 Church St., Bradford. Guests included Tina Fuller, Jaime De Simone and Lauren Sprague. Sprague performed “The Girl in 14-G” live.

Komola follows in the footsteps of such hosts as Edwin V. Johnson, Bill Pike, Lindsay Parker, Jack Bevelaqua and Tim Coco.

Open Mike Show is heard Monday nights, beginning at 6:30 p.m., over 97.9 WHAV. It appears live with video at WHAV.TV, WHAV’s Facebook page and HC Media Channel 22 (Comcast).
