Patricia A. (Germain) McCarthy, 87, Once Worked at Fox School

Patricia A. (Germain) McCarthy, 87, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully Monday, May 29, in Saco, Maine, where she resided for the last several years.

McCarthy was born in Watertown, March 11, 1930, daughter of the late Andrew J. and Evelyn V. (Horrigan) Germain. She attended Newton Country Day School and Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart in New York City. For many years, McCarthy made a home for her family while also working at Fox School as a special education aid. She was a parishioner at both Sacred Hearts Parish and St. James Parish while she was living in Haverhill. She attended prayer groups regularly at Saint Basil Center, Methuen, and was deeply involved in the healing ministry at Lasallette in Ipswich.

McCarthy was predeceased by her husband George M. McCarthy Jr, who passed away in 1995; son Brian J. McCarthy; and granddaughter Sarah B. Berlin. She is survived by her daughter Andrea McCarthy Berlin and her husband Steven Berlin of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; and three grandchildren Chelsey A. Berlin of Washington D.C., Michael A. Berlin and his wife Angela W. (Nason) Berlin of Lynn, and David E. Berlin of Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m., at Sacred Hearts Parish, 165 South Main St., (route 125) Bradford. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
