Jason A. Michitson, 44, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died at his home from natural causes Friday, May 19.
Born in Haverhill, son of James and Donna (DiProfio) Michitson, he attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School class of 1991, where he was a member of the football and wrestling teams. He attended Fitchburg State College and received his associates in communications from Northern Essex Community College. Michitson was working as a nurse recruiter at HMR Staffing and as a sales representative at Lambert Roofing Co. He previously was employed as a supervisor at Zwicker & Associates, Andover, and the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.
A member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, he was a longtime member of the Thursday Night Basketball League at Cedardale Athletic Club in Ward Hill. He was an avid sports fan of all Boston and New England sports teams as well as all collegiate sports. He also enjoyed hockey and floor hockey, gathering with his friends at Murphy’s Garrison Golf Course and traveling and trips to the beach.
He leaves his wife of 18 months, Jennifer (Clark) Michitson; step daughter, Juliana; parents, James and Donna (DiProfio) Michitson of Haverhill; brother Matthew J. Michitson of Haverhill; sister, Adria Michitson and her fiancé Justin Poore of Haverhill; maternal grandmother Aurea (Cartier) DiProfio of Haverhill; niece, Austin and nephew, Hunter; several aunts, uncles and cousins; trusted dog “Teddy;” and numerous friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his life celebration Thursday May 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral takes place Friday morning, at 10, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial follows in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
