Commissioner to Kick Off Haverhill Energy-Enviro Conference

Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Judith Judson kicks off a free Energy and Environmental Conference taking place in Haverhill next week.

Presented by the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce, the conference also includes a panel of local experts to assist businesses and homeowners reduce energy costs. The conference takes place Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast, at DiBurro’s Function Hall, 887 Boston Road.

Judson assumed her post two years ago after working for Customized Energy Solutions since August, 2012, as director of emerging technologies, where she advised clients on the use of technologies to cost-effectively modernize the U.S. electric grid. She previously worked for Beacon Power, where she served as vice president of asset management and market development. She has participated in numerous hearings and technical conferences at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy. Judson served as chairman and commissioner of the Massachusetts Public Utilities Commission during the gubernatorial administration of Mitt Romney. She holds a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Kettering University.
