Richard J. “Dick” Tellier, 71, Worked at Vernon Plastics

Richard_TellierRichard J. “Dick” Tellier, 71, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family May 4, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.

Born Nov. 30, 1945, he was the son of Helen (Nichols) (Tellier) (Chagnon) Willett and the late Norman Tellier. He attended Haverhill Public Schools, including Haverhill High School and was employed for 32 years as a shipping clerk at Vernon Plastics. He was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish. His idea of “paradise” and his greatest enjoyment was spending time camping with his wife, family and friends. Among the many activities at camp, he most enjoyed sitting outside of his camper with his dogs at his feet. Tellier had and extraordinary love for his pets, and a vivacious and quick sense of humor. He loved long car rides to the mountains with his wife, cooking, watching movies and spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Belanger) Tellier; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and David Lobley, of Amesbury; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Tellier of Haverhill, Jeffrey and Tanya Tellier of Derry, N.H., and Brian and Kristen Tellier of Hampstead, N.H.; mother, Helen Willett of Haverhill; brothers, Norman Tellier of Newburyport, Robert Tellier of Atkinson, N.H., Thomas Tellier of Lawrence, U.S.Army Colonel (RET.)Wilfred “Bill” Chagnon of Virginia; sisters, Judy Rolando of Virginia and Pam Langlois of Newton, N.H.; grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, Hannah, Amanda, Lylah, Jack and Morgan; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family thanks the staff of Merrimack Valley Hospice House for their loving and professional care, and to the staff of the Lahey Hospital of Burlington for all of their help during Tellier’s long Illnesses.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, May 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral is Tuesday, 9 a.m., from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial follows in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA.
