Former Haverhill Mayoral Aide “Maggie” Rosinski Dies at 67

Former Haverhill mayoral aide Marguerite “Maggie” (Drossos) Rosinski, died last Thursday, at home. She was 67 and a lifelong Haverhill resident.

Rosinski was born in Haverhill Nov. 5, 1949, daughter of the late John and Mary (Vasiliades) Drossos. She graduated from Haverhill High School and Lasalle Junior College and Curry College. She was the wife of 40 years to Richard ‘Rick’ Rosinski.

She began her career working in education, teaching in the Haverhill Public Schools and Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. She also worked as a paralegal in Boston for many years. The career she was most proud of was working in the political arena including as assistant to the mayor under Haverhill Mayor John J. Guerin, working with Mayor William Manzi of Methuen and in the City of Lawrence Economic and Development Office. She also worked with the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, Law Office of Thomas Sullivan and Ben Consoli Realtors.

Rosinski joined the Haverhill Exchange Club, whose programs center around youth, community, Americanism and the national cause of child abuse prevention, and served as a member, board member, past president and chairman of many events. She was an Exchangite of the Year and honored as a member whose countless time and effort exemplified the clubs mission.

Besides her husband, she leaves siblings, Michael Drossos and wife Malva Gordett of Needham and Theo Drossos and wife Paula of Haverhill; sisters in-law Debra Simmington and Robin Rosinski and partner Anna Brigantino; several nieces and nephews; close friends; and her special dogs, Sofi and Jack.

Visiting hours were Sunday, May 7, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services were scheduled this morning at the funeral home with burial following in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Haverhill Exchange Club which will create a scholarship that will be awarded to a high school student furthering their studies in the field of education.
