Beverly J. (MacLeod) Varrone, 83, Worked for Alleghany Airlines

Beverly_VarroneBeverly J. (MacLeod) Varrone, 83, of Haverhill, wife of the late Anthony J. Varrone, passed away May 4, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill, surrounded by her family.

Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Roderick M. and Priscilla (Davey) MacLeod. Raised and educated in Quincy, she was a graduate of North Quincy High School, class of 1951. Varrone attended Flight Attendant School before she moved to New York City where she met and married her husband Anthony. They resided at Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island, N.Y., from 1953 to 1980. They relocated to Pelham, N.H., for six years before moving to Melbourne, Fla., where she resided 25 years. In 2016, Varrone moved to Haverhill. She was employed at Alleghany Airlines as an administrator. Following her employment with the airline, she was the director of senior citizens for Suffolk County, N.Y. She loved fashion, shopping and her bling. She loved to dance, especially to her favorite musical artist, Frank Sinatra. She was a movie buff, enjoying many of the oldies.

Varrone is survived by her children, Laura A. Martin and her husband Robert of Haverhill; Joseph R. Varrone and his wife Robin of Manchester, Md.; David A. Varrone and his wife Lisa of Haverhill; sister, Nancy M. Jacobson of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Kelsey Sandoval and her husband Julio, Danielle Martin, Michaela Martin, nephew Kyle Jacobson; niece, Alexandra Offiong; and great nieces Cecilia and Celeste Offiong.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Monday, May 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A graveside service takes place Tuesday, May 9 at, 10 a.m, at Gibson Cemetery, 68 Old Bridge Street, Pelham, N.H.
