Eugene Drelick, 76, Served in U.S. Air Force

Bernard_DrelickEugene Drelick, 76, of Groveland and formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully  Sunday, April 30, at home after a lengthy illness.

Drelick was born in Haverhill Nov. 25, 1940, son of the late Martin and Helen (Perog) Drelick. He was raised in the Bradford section of Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, class of 1958. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving with military police and traveling to Guam and Morocco where he guarded B-52 bombers. After returning from the military, Drelick began his career with Western Electric, where he worked for more than 35 years until his retirement. He settled in Groveland where he shared almost 47 years of marriage with his wife Victoria (Borden) Drelick.

Drelick enjoyed his time shares in Las Vegas and Disney World. He was an avid Bruins fan but also enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. His family and friends also commonly knew him as the “Pizza Man.”

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Jeannie Kamperides and husband Harry; grandchildren Lexie, Myah, Harrison, and Savannah; sisters, Barbara Cote and husband Richard and Carol Baxter and husband Al; sister in-law Elaine Merchant; brother in-law Joseph Borden; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Claire Swenson and her husband Stanley, Victoria’s parents Celia and Albert Borden, sister in-law Teresa Borden and brother in-law Robert Merchant.

Visiting hours are Saturday morning at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Haverhill, from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial follows, being celebrated in St. John Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Ave., Haverhill, at 11:30, with U.S. Air Force Honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
