Marie C. (Giroux) Spaulding, 81, Worked at WHAV

Marie C. (Giroux) Spaulding, 81, passed away at Penacook Place, Haverhill, April 26, surrounded by her family.

Born May 15, 1935 in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Hector L. and Helen H. (St.Pierre) Giroux. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1953. She married her first husband John Gallant in 1956 and later married the love of her life, the late Ken Spaulding, in 1967. They both were employed for many years at Haverhill radio station WHAV, where he was an on-air personality and she worked in the business and accounting office.

She was later employed at Fruit Salad (aka Frosty Fresh), Lawrence, where she handled accounts payable and payroll. Spaulding was proud to be a Massachusetts notary public. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, photography and caring for many cats over the years. She had a strong faith and was a communicant of All Saints Parish. Her most precious moments were spent with her children and especially her grandchildren.

Spaulding is survived by her children, Eric Gallant and his wife Paula of Haverhill; Wayne Gallant and his wife Denise of Rochester, N.H.; Valerie Cloutier and her husband Bryan of Londonderry, N.H.; Ken Spaulding of Philadelphia, Penn.; Christopher Spaulding and his wife Erin of Lexington, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Gallant; Lucien Duval IV, Nicole “Shea” Cloutier and Matthew Cloutier; Brendon Spaulding, Alex Spaulding and Eden Marie Spaulding; sister, Caroline Skillin of Deerfield, N.H.; sister-in-law Madeleine Giroux of Salem, N.H.; and nephews. Besides her husband Ken she was predeceased by her brother Alfred Giroux.

Funeral services are incomplete. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
