Jacqueline Marie (Peck) Nissi, 87, Lawrence General Nurse

Jacqueline_Marie_NissiJacqueline Marie (Peck) Nissi, 87, of Haverhill, passed away Saturday morning, April 22, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by  her family.

Nissi was born March 6, 1930 in Newton, to the late Ruth A. (Fitzpatrick) and Earl T. Peck. She graduated from St. James High School in 1947 and earned her registered nursing degree in 1950 from St. John’s School of Nursing, Lowell. She was married to Nordo M. Nissi Jr., on October 6, 1951. He preceded her in death June 26, 2004. They were married for 52 years. Nissi worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years. Her most memorable job was working on H5 at Lawrence General Hospital where she cherished her time as a caregiver and made many lifelong friends. During her free time she enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. She found great joy in doing for others and could be found delivering communion to homebound parishioners, cleaning the sanctuary of Sacred Hearts Church or manning the Saint Vincent DePaul’s food pantry.

Nissi is survived by sister Patricia Wicks of Haverhill; six children and their spouses, Carolanne Nissi-Jordan and her husband Jerry of Berlin, N.H., Mary Theresa Hansen and her husband Eric of Stafford, Virg., Nordo Nissi III and his wife Jane of Groton, Richard G. Nissi and his wife Priscilla of Duxbury,Joseph M. Nissi and his wife Carrie of Bradford, and Daniel C. Nissi and his wife Jennifer of Sherborn; 16 grandchildren, Nordo IV, Taylor, Molly, James, Julia, Cassandra, Grace, Emily, Sarah, Andrew, Oliver, Jack, Antonio, Marcello, Victoria and Alexander; and three great grandsons, Asher, Harrison and Max.

The family will receive friends and family Monday, April 24, from 4 to 7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Bradford. A funeral service celebrating her life takes place Tuesday, April 25, 10 a.m., at Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Bradford. Burial follows in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Sacred Hearts Church, 48 South Chestnut Street, Bradford, MA 01835.
