Bernadette Peltonovich Wilbur, 89, Worked at AAA

Bernadette (Champagne) Peltonovich Wilbur, 89, of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday after a lengthy illness at the Wingate,Haverhill.

Born and educated in Haverhill, she graduated from St. James High School, class of 1945. She was employed as a branch manager at AAA in Haverhill for many years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Haverhill Women’s Club. She and her husband, Glenn, enjoyed traveling, and had been to many places. One of her favorites being Nova Scotia. She enjoyed cooking and seeing her grandchildren and watching them participate in their sports and dance activities.

She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn L. Wilbur, and her late husband William Peltonovich; brother, Robert V. Champagne of Newburyport; sisters-in-law, Myrla Roseberry and Edith Wilbur; and her brothers-in-law, Wayne and Craig Wilbur. She leaves behind two sons, John Peltonovich and his wife, Barbara, of Kingston, N.H., and Joseph Peltonovich and his wife Janet, of North Andover; daughter, Joanne Brown and her husband, Jim Brown, of Sandown, N.H.; brother, Robert Champagne of Orange, Conn.; aunt, Lorraine Langlois of Hampton Falls, N.H.; sister-in-law, Judith Champagne of Coconut Creek, Fla.; four grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler and his wife, Krysten, Alyssa and Troy Peltonovich; and several nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the staff of the Wingate in Haverhill for caring and support during her time there.

Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers and Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, are Tuesday, April 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services at the funeral home are Wednesday, April 26, 10 a.m., followed by burial in Union Cemetery, Amesbury.
