The free smoke detector program is a national effort coordinated by the American Red Cross.
While supplies last, up to three battery-operated smoke detectors will be available to residents of Haverhill free of charge including installation.
The Haverhill Police Emergency Management Office and the Haverhill Fire Department have teamed up with the American Red Cross to coordinate this program.
