State Rep. Diana DiZoglio is hosting a Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Day at the State House Tuesday, April 25.

DiZoglio recently sponsored a resolution, co-sponsored by more than 40 other legislators, proclaiming the month of April as Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month in Massachusetts. She will formally present the resolution during the event.

Parkinson’s Disease is a chronic, progressive neurological disease, with no treatment to slow or halt its progression, that affects an estimated one million Americans and is the 14th leading cause of death in the United States.

The Awareness Day, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., in Room 428 of the State House, is free and open to the public.
