Vera (Dulavitz) DiPietro, 80, of Haverhill, passed away at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Peabody, Feb. 17, 1937, daughter of the late Andrew and Xenia “Sally” (Sedlar) Dulavitz. DiPietro graduated from Peabody High School in 1954, having been the captain of her basketball team. She married the love of her life, the late Anthony DiPietro, in 1957. They were married 59 years before his death in 2004. She worked at Primrose Supermarket in Haverhill and at home raising her three children and running the household. She was employed for more than 20 years with Verizon as an engineering clerk before retirement. She enjoyed bird watching, sewing and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Lenore DiPietro of Haverhill, Patrick DiPietro and wife Diane of Athol, and Angela DiPietro of Haverhill; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Andrew Dulavitz of Manchester by the Sea; and several nieces and nephews.
