Methuen Plans Forum to Address Alcohol Addiction

Methuen Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon.

Methuen Police and the Community Addiction Resource Engagement Services (CARES) Initiative hope to bring the community together to address alcohol addiction during an April Alcohol Awareness Month conversation.

“Connecting the Dots: Opportunities for Recovery,” involves an expert panel and sharing of citizen stories around addiction and recovery, Saturday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Methuen Senior Center, 77 Lowell St.

“This April, the police department and CARES are focusing on providing Methuen community members with the tools necessary to help recover from alcohol addiction,” said Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon.

One aim of the panel discussion is to allow residents to decide what programs and initiatives would be beneficial to Methuen to address alcohol addiction.

Besides police, panelists include Methuen High School students; Lynn Hansen, Essex County Correctional Facility; J.T. Torres, Veteran Services; Deanna Cruz, Lawrence/Methuen Community Coalition; Pastor Goodrich, First Baptist Church Plaistow, N.H.; Rose DiNuccio, fitness trainer; Doug Griffin, parent ambassador; and Carina Pappalardo, Psychological Center CEO.

Refreshments will be provided and interactive activities will be available for children. For more information, contact Community Engagement Specialists Jennifer Burns at 978-701-7782 or Jacquelyn Ingersoll at 978-701-8195.
