Janet (Johnson) Jacobs, 85, Was Clerk at John Hancock Ins.

Janet (Johnson) Jacobs, 85, lifelong Haverhill resident, passed early Wednesday morning, March 29, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, with her family at her side.

One of five children of the late Frederick and Doris (Young) Johnson, she was born in Haverhill Oct. 31, 1931, and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1949. For many years Janet worked as an office clerk at the John Hancock Life Insurance Company. She enjoyed her years a a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Merrimac Fire Department.

Her survivors include her son, Scott Maker and longtime friend, Michael McLeieer of Kalamazoo, Mich.; step-daughter, Shirley MacRea and husband Robert of Ipswich; two sisters, Patricia Raymond and husband Everett “Bud” of Haverhill and Merilyn Randall and husband Melvin of Merrimac; sister-in-law, Betty Webber of Connecticut; and special friends, Barbara Grant and Nolan Terri and Hannah Shaw. She was predeceased by a step-son, Robert Maker; a brother, Robert Johnson and a sister, Judith Piemontese.

By her request, all services are private for the family.
