Paul Dowell Drewett, 52, Electrician, Sold Electrical Supplies

Paul_DrewettPaul Dowell Drewett, 52, of Bradford, passed away Saturday at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley.

He was born in Haverhill Sept. 21, 1964, son of the late Eleanor (Bakarensky) Drewett and James D. Drewett of Haverhill. He was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s electrical course in 1983. He worked as an apprentice and passed his exam to become a licensed electrician.
He later gave up the electrical trade and went into sales of electrical supplies at Gloucester Supply, Needham Electric, and Ralph Pill. Drewett became a Mason and a Shriner, and volunteered many hours supporting Shriner’s Hospital for Children and in the occupational therapy department at the hospital. He and his wife Dorothy lived for a number of years in Gloucester, where Paul spent many hours volunteering at the Open Door Food Pantry and Second Glance Thrift Store.

Drewett is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dorothy Taylor; father, James Drewett; brother, James and his wife Shelley and their son Tommy Drewett; sister, Margot, all of Haverhill; uncle, Ian “Mike” Drewett of Florida; and his best friend since grade school, Joseph McPherson.

There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 51, Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
