Firefighters were able to contain a two-alarm blaze Sunday morning to one area of a Georgetown commercial complex.

No injuries were reported at the building housing a CVS/Pharmacy, law firm, yoga studio and two physician’s offices, among others. Georgetown Fire Chief Fred Mitchell said the fire, which broke out about 8 a.m., at 65 Central St., was under control within a half hour, but the left side received significant damage, and other offices sustained water and smoke damage. The pharmacy and other offices on the right side were undamaged.

“This was a tremendous and professional effort by our fire crews and neighbors providing mutual aid,” Mitchell said. “Thanks to the hard work of the responding firefighters, no one was injured, and the building was saved this morning.”

The building, as it turns out, is right next door to the fire department.

Mutual aid came from Haverhill, Newbury, Groveland, West Newbury, Boxford, Rowley and Topsfield. Atlantic Ambulance Service, Georgetown Electric Department and National Grid Massachusetts Gas also responded.
