Velya Jancz-Urban discusses the “Not-So-Good Life of the Colonial Goodwife,” tomorrow at Buttonwoods Museum.

Discover what life was really like for New England’s colonial women—menstruation, sex and birth control, childbirth and sickness and medicine—during the lecture, taking place Thursday, March 16, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Buttonwoods Museum, 240 Water St., Haverhill.

“The Not-So-Good Life of the Colonial Goodwife not only makes audience members laugh and grimace, but it also honors our foremothers. It’s not about quilting bees and spinning wheels,” said Buttonwoods Museum. “It’s an interactive presentation about the little-known issues faced by New England’s colonial women.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, email [email protected].
