“Heroes in Our Midst,” a new book about local veterans by Tom Duggan, is one of the topics covered during tonight’s live Open Mike Show on 97.9 WHAV.
Duggan, publisher of the Valley Patriot newspaper, honors a local veteran in each issue. The book is a collection of those stories and interviews going back to March, 2004. From World War II to Afghanistan, stories cover every war and each branch of the armed services.
“In the 13 years we have been publishing The Valley Patriot, we’ve amassed quite a collection of stories from 134 local veterans who are now honored and remember in this great new book detailing how they played a part in history, and how it changed their lives,” Duggan said.
“Heroes in Our Midst” includes not only interviews and stories with local veterans, but personal photographs from the men and women who were there.
