Gary L. Arsenault, 71, Hunking and Consentino Schools Custodian

Gary L. Arsenault, 71, of Fremont, N.H., passed away March 5, at Exeter Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucille Arsenault.

Arsenault was born Sept. 27, 1945 in Rumford, Maine. He graduated from Buckfield High School, class of 1964, and pitched on the school’s baseball team. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany before his discharge in 1971 with the rank of Sp4. He worked 31 years as a custodian for the Haverhill School Department at both the Caleb Dustin Hunking and Albert B. Consentino Schools before retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War in Epping, NH. He was an avid sports fan, and faithfully followed all New England teams.

Arsenault is survived by his sons, Gary Arsenault and his wife Alexis of Pensacola, Fla., and Mark Arsenault and his wife Tammy of Wakefield, N.H.; granddaughter, Madison Arsenault; brothers, Richard Arsenault and his wife Marolyn of Everett, Wash., and John Healy of Raymond, N.H.; sister, Shelby Nichols and her husband Dennis of Jay, Maine, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Thursday, March 9, 5 p.m., at Dole, Childs and Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Calling hours precede the service from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Burial at Southern Main Veteran’s Cemetery is private.
