Students at Pentucket High School in conjunction with the Pentucket Arts Foundation present the Tony award-winning musical “Damn Yankees” this week.

The show opens Thursday, at 7 p.m., and continues through the weekend at the same time Friday and Saturday. A Saturday matinee begins at 2 p.m. All performances take place at the high school’s auditorium on Main Street. Tickets are $10 at the door.

The play tells the story of a die-hard Washington Senators baseball fan, Joe Boyd, who makes a Faustian-style deal with the devil; he’ll sell his soul if only his beloved team can just once triumph over “those damn Yankees.”

Boyd is played by senior Danny DiCamillo. “Damn Yankees” is the 14th play he’s done with the Pentucket Regional School District’s theater programs. “I’m glad to end on such a high note,” he says. “The cast for this show is amazing, so fun to work with, and the music and dancing make for an awesome musical theatre experience.”

The Pentucket Arts Foundation promotes excellence in the fine and performing arts throughout the Pentucket community, with an emphasis on visual art, music, dance and theater.
