Aurelie J. (Hideriotis) Shanahan, 65, Respiratory Therapist

Aurelie_ShanahanAurelie J. (Hideriotis) Shanahan, 65, wife of Thomas M. Shanahan, passed away March 1,  just 18 days shy of her 66th birthday, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Aurelie (Hurley) Hideriotis. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1969. She attended Northeastern University studying respiratory therapy. She was employed as a respiratory therapist for many years. She also worked at Merrimack College as a dorm monitor and operator. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and local beaches.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Matthew T. Shanahan and his wife Kelley of Chester, N.H., Nicholas L. Shanahan and his wife Rachel of Haverhill, and Thomas D. Shanahan of Haverhill; and four grandchildren, Madison, Ava, Ethan and Emily.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, March 5, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin Monday at 9 a.m., in the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. James Church, 185 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial is private. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
