Tyrone A. Farrar, 65, Vietnam Veteran

tyrone_FarrarTyrone A. Farrar, 65, of Haverhill, husband of Joan Marie (Antonelli) Farrar, passed away Feb. 23, at Lawrence General Hospital with his family at his side.

Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Addie and Rosa (Hancock) Farrar. He attended school in Newark, N.J., and was a high school graduate, class of 1969. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War from 1971 until 1975 and was honorably discharged. He was employed for 35 years as a nuclear medical technician at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and was a member of the choir for 20 years. He also coached youth basketball at St. Patrick’s. Farrar enjoyed playing cards and following the local sport teams.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tyrone A. Farrar Jr. of Haverhill, Jacob Farrar of Haverhill, Joshua Farrar of Worcester, Kristle Farrar and her fiancé John Veysey of Lawrence, and Katrina Farrar of Lowell; brother, Maurice Farrar of Haverhill; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday, March 3, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin Saturday at 9 a.m., from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, 185 Winter Street, Haverhill. Burial will be private.
