Updated: Investigators Review Three-Alarm Cedardale Fire

With a three-alarm fire at Cedardale Health and Fitness knocked down, the focus now shifts to the cause of the blaze and the future of the popular Boston Road Club.

The Massachusetts State Fire Marshal’s office sent an investigator to the scene this morning.

The fire was first reported at the complex’s main building around 2 a.m., and quickly went to a second alarm as firefighters were forced to largely work from outside the building. A third alarm was sounded at 3 a.m. at the metal-clad Boston Road building. Officials said the fire began near the center of the building where locker rooms are located.

No injuries were reported.

Morning commuters found traffic backed up along route 125 as detours were established to accommodate the fire department’s feeder lines.

WHAV will have more on this developing story as more details become known.
