Northern Essex Names Tremblay as Controller/Budget Director

Groveland resident Michelle Tremblay has been appointed controller/director of budgets at Northern Essex Community College.

Michelle Tremblay of Groveland has been named controller/director of budgets at Northern Essex Community College.

It is a homecoming of sorts for Tremblay, who graduated from the college in 1987 with an associate degree in business transfer with a focus on accounting.

“This is such a great institution. It has such an important mission and I’m privileged to help support that mission. The school has always meant so much to me and my family,” Tremblay said. She explained, her sister, mother and daughter all earned associate degrees from Northern Essex, and she has two more daughters interested in attending.

A 1984 graduate of Pentucket High School, she went to work for New England Telephone, then earned earn her bachelor’s degree in accounting as an evening student at Franklin Pierce College. That led to a 14-year career with the Verizon Yellow Pages. Later, she worked at Hasbro Interactive, Lawrence General Hospital, controller for the Boston Ballet and the Trustees of Reservations, Beverly.
