Ursula L. (Sinotte) Couture, 81, a native and former longtime resident of Haverhill, died peacefully Feb. 11, at her home, surrounded by her family.
The daughter of the late Ambrose and Rose (Lajeunesse) Sinotte, she attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson. A member of the Haverhill High School class of 1954, Couture was an administrative assistant employed for several years at Western Electric Co. and AT&T Technologies. She later worked as a cashier at the Market Basket Stores in Salem and Nashua, N.H., for several years before retiring.
A member of the former Saint Joseph Parish of Haverhill, she enjoyed baking; entertaining family and friends during the holidays; spending summers at Lake Winnipesaukee and Orr’s Island, Maine; and the special times spent with her brother Paul and his family at Hampton Beach.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Maurice Couture; two daughters, Paula and Paul Cunniff of Bradford, and Karen and Dennis Quinn, of Salem, N.H.; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Quinn and Dennis Quinn, Jr.; sister-in-law, Elaine Sinotte of North Wales, Penn.; her longtime close friend Barbara Roche of North Andover; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, L. Paul Sinotte and Raymond Sinotte.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, Feb. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral is Friday, 9 a.m., from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill with burial to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St, Lawrence, MA.
