Methuen is seeking help from the public in identifying three men who were involved in an armed home invasion Saturday night on Kirk Street.

Three masked men forced their way into a home about 7:30 p.m., Saturday, at 14 Kirk St., according to Mayor Stephen Zanni and Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon.

“The resident told police that three masked men knocked on the door of the home looking for a specific male resident,” a statement said. “According to the victim, when the suspects learned that the resident was not home they forced their way into the apartment. One of the suspects allegedly brandished a handgun and pointed it at the victim’s head. The suspects demanded to know where the particular male’s room was and once shown they ransacked the room.”

The men left with undetermined amount of cash and other items. Police were not called until about 9 p.m.

The man with the handgun was described as a 5’6″ tall, with bushy hair and wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The other two men were described as about six feet tall and all were wearing large winter coats. Police believe that the suspects fled in a grey Kia Soul or similar subcompact crossover vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Methuen Police Department at 978-983-8675 or Methuen Police Detective Keith Frost at 978-983-8709.
