Haverhill Police Arrest Maine Men on Fentanyl Drug Trafficking

Two Maine men were allegedly trying to sell the deadly drug fentanyl when they were arrested on Main Street last week.

Dennis Brooks, 27, of Berwick, Maine, and Jeremy Cook, 43, of Bangor, Maine, were charged with fentanyl trafficking, possession of drugs and conspiracy to violate drug laws after their arrests Wednesday afternoon.

The pair were arrested by Haverhill narcotics detectives, said Lt. Robert P. Pistone, Haverhill police spokesman. They were scheduled to be arraigned at Haverhill District Court.

In other police news:

Joshua Allen, 28, of 57 Auburn St., was charged with possession of drugs Saturday night, just before 9:30, on Fourth Avenue, He was also arrested on a warrant relating to driving with a suspended license, driving with suspended registration and having an uninsured vehicle.

Daniel Rivera, 36, of 33 Bartlett St., Haverhill, was arrested 12:35, Friday afternoon, on charges of possessing drugs with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws, failing to stop or yield and unlicensed driving.

Cameron McDonald, 26, of Kingston, N.H., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct Saturday night, just before midnight, at 77 Washington St. He was also arrested on a warrant relating to being a fugitive from justice.

Daniel Desjardins, 32, of Lowell, was arrested on a warrant Friday, just before 5:30 p.m., related to conspiracy to violate drug laws. He was also charged earlier in the day with being a fugitive from justice.

Jason Burnett, 30, of 380 Main St., was charged with driving with a suspended license, Friday afternoon at 5:35, on Winter Street. He was also arrested on a warrant relating to speeding, driving with a suspended license, failing to wear a safety belt and a lights violation.

Nermis Rivas, 29, 1 Water St., was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, following her arrest Wednesday night at 9:30.
