Robert C. Forte, 68, Retired from Massachusetts Electric

Robert_ForteRobert C. Forte, 68, of Haverhill, died Monday, Jan. 30, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

He was born in Haverhill, Aug. 16, 1948, son of the late Frank G. and Mildred O. (Dupont) Forte. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Forte attended Northern Essex Community College where he earned an associates in accounting. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. For more than 35 years, he was employed as a lineman for the former Massachusetts Electric Co., now National Grid, from where he retired in 2005. His loved the Patriots and Red Sox. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed his Wednesday evening golf with some of his closest friends.

His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Elaine A. (Crosley) Forte of Haverhill, daughter, Donna M. Worthington and her husband Grant of Boca Raton, Fla., two sisters, Linda M. House and her husband William A. of Haverhill, and Dianne M. Lahaye of Haverhill; grandson, Cooper R. Worthington of Boca Raton, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday, Feb. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, Feb. 3, 11 a.m., in St. James Church, Haverhill. Burial with military honors will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Haverhill.
