Virginia “Ginny” Howell, 85, of Haverhill, passed away Jan. 24, at Lawrence General Hospital.
Howell was born Dec. 31,1931 to William and Florence Sweezey. She was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School. She later moved to Saugus where she and her husband Thomas raised three children. She lived in Saugus until 2002 when she moved to Haverhill to be near her daughters.
Howell retired from General Electric, Lynn. After retirement, she enjoyed many activities such as roller skating, ballroom dancing and traveling. She was grateful for the chance she had to visit Germany, Africa, China, Alaska and the West Coast. She also took several cruises and many trips to Disney World with her family. She also enjoyed entertaining and hosted many family gatherings and cookouts for friends.
She leaves her children, Thomas of Newbury, Dawna Osgood and husband Russ of Bradford and Denise Affannato and husband Charles of Haverhill; brother, Byron Sweezey and wife Carolyn of Winter Haven, FlaL; five grandchildren, Nathan Osgood and wife Shannon, Thomas Osgood and wife Ashley, Christopher Affannato, Tara Affannato and Nicole Affannato.
