Alma R. “Cookie” (Dodier) Blinn, 75, Retired Hairdresser

Alma_BlinnAlma R. “Cookie” (Dodier) Blinn, 75, of Haverhill and formerly of Plaistow, died Jan. 17, at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.

Born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Levis and Alma (Dodier) Dodier, she attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and was a member of the Haverhill High School class of 1959. She later attended the Catherine Hines School. A hairdresser and aesthetician, she was employed 13 years at Interlocks, Newburyport, retiring in 2014. A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill, she enjoyed working out at Latitudes in Methuen and solving crossword puzzles. She also raised and showed Himalayan cats.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, Robert J. Blinn; cat, “Oliver”; two sons, Rob Blinn of Manchester, and Rodney Blinn of Somersworth, N.H.; two brothers, George Dodier and his wife Marilyn of Homosassa, Fla., and Robert “Skip” Dodier of Leesburg, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Day of Haverhill and Corrine Guevin of Atkinson, N.H.; six grandchildren, Alex, Chelsea, Mercedes, Shane, Britney and Bryce; great grand-daughter, Parker; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brothers Paul Dodier, Jean Dodier and Michael Dodier, and sisters Blanche Dodier and Marie Daniels.

Services under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home of Haverhill are private. Donations in Mrs. Blinn’s name may be made to the MSPCA c/o Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen.
