Cristobalina DeAza, 90, of Haverhill, wife of the late Secundino DeAza, passed away at home Jan. 18, surrounded by her family.
Born in the Dominican Republic, she came to the United States in 1978 and settled in Haverhill. On Dec. 7, 1996, she became a United States Citizen, of which she was very proud. She worked as an assembler in the city’s shoe industry. DeAza enjoyed traveling back often to the Dominican Republic to visit family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Fausto R. Sepulveda of the Dominican Republic; Regino V. DeAza, Brigido A. DeAza and Iris F. De la Rosa, all of Haverhill; Angel E. DeAza of Portsmouth, N.H.; Maria I. DeAza of Haverhill; Roberto DeAza of Claremont, N.H.;29 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carmen Mejia and Eligia Sepulveda de Martinez.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, Jan. 22. from 2 to 5 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 23, 11:30 a.m., at St. James Church, 185 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial follows at St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.
