Plaistow Police Offer Inside Look at Workings of Department

Plaistow police plan to offer a Citizens Police Academy beginning in February.

The Citizens Police Academy is a community policing initiative aimed at building stronger relationships with the community by providing participants with greater insight to the functions of the police department.

The academy is open Plaistow residents who are 18 or older. The session is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Feb. 28 and run for 12 weeks, meeting each Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Most classes meet at the police station. There is no charge to participate.

Enrollment is limited to16 participants; applications will be considered on a first come first served basis.
